I live in Hummelstown, PA and have been
playing the mandolin for almost three years now. Prior to the mandolin, I
played the guitar for 14+ years. I listen to and play all styles of
music. I saw Sam Bush with Bluegrass Sessions play a show near my hometown
and I was hooked on the mandolin. After playing a student type mandolin
for the first year and a half and falling in love with the instrument, I
decided it was time to upgrade. I asked around, researched, and played
quite a few different brands at festivals and music stores. After taking a
trip to Lanning Music in Lock Haven, PA and playing their selection of
Webers my mind was made up. It was the combination of Sound To Earth's
excellent customer service reputation, their superb craftsmanship, sound
quality, and the fact that STE would commit to any custom option I asked
for that made up my mind to have them build my custom mandolin I would
cherish forever.
It's now been just over a year since I
received my mandolin. It's a custom Yellowstone model and has a custom
color I selected. STE was also open to my request to build a customized
fret board with descending size dot/fret markers. This mandolin sounded
awesome when I picked it up and has just gotten better with age. Whether
it's blues, jazz, grass, etc. this mandolin is the perfect fit!! I
really want to thank Bruce, Paula, Brett, John, and Annette (from Lanning
Music) for putting up with all my questions and emails while I was
selecting all my options for this beautiful instrument.
