Nestled at the bottom of the Blue Ridge
Mountains in the county of Anderson, S.C. is Jack Ellenburg and his
Bitterroot Mandolin. Jack owns the Picking Parlor, where hundreds of
musicians gather to jam and put on stage shows. He also has a
bluegrass band named Grass Roots Exchange. When purchasing his
Weber Bitterroot mandolin, Jack checked out other models, but found the
right sound in the Bitterroot model.....bright and brilliant with the tone
bar on the bass side delivering the right "chunk" and the treble, marrying
with the bass to make up the total harmony of his Bitterroot mandolin.
All that have held and heard the Bitterroot mandolin that Jack owns,
describe it as a mandolin the has awesome sound.
Jack has been a member and co-sponsor of Grass Roots
Exchange for about 5 years. He makes many appearances with the
group, all the way from Atlanta to Spartanburg SC. Jack has been
playing rhythm guitar for many years and about 4 years ago fell in love
with the sound of the mandolin in a group setting. Jack's blood runs
bluegrass. He loves the upbeat and high frequency sounds that are
associated with bluegrass music. Jack is also a promoter of
bluegrass in the upstate of South Carolina. He has put on a lot of
events that involve the surrounding communities where he lives and plays
bluegrass.

mandolin is always within reach to be heard and played. Jack is the
proud owner of one of the most beautiful, well-built mandolins in the
marketplace today.
