I am the owner of two mandolins - a Weber Aspen #2 and a Y2K. As
a folk mandolinist who plays many different styles (Irish, Swedish,
French, German Volkstanze, and American old time and contra dance), I
prefer flat top mandolins. The style of this mandolin sounds better
for Folk Music than archtop mandolins with F holes, which are better
suited for Bluegrass, Jazz and other contemporary music.
There are many good luthiers here in Germany and elsewhere, but for me a
mandolin must be a Weber. As a tribute to my mandolins, I have
written a waltz entitled "Sound To Earth". Please don't play it too
slow. I most often play in my kitchen, so I call myself a
Kitchenmandoliner. With friendly greetings,
