This will be brief as I have only been playing mandolin about 2 years.
I played keyboards and guitar many years ago, but discovered bluegrass
music and decided to try the mandolin. I have been working to learn the
music as well as the instrument by playing at jams. Last March I decided I
needed to upgrade from the mandolin I had to something better. Weber was
recommended by a couple players I know. I got the opportunity to try one
when My Favorite Guitars set up shop in Naples, Florida. I was not
planning on buying one that day, but Jon Garon let me play a couple of
Webers and I loved the sound, the bark and the feel of one of the
Yellowstones. I particularly liked the scallop at the end of the neck. At
this time I am working on developing my chops and bluegrass play list by
practicing and performing with a group out of Owensboro, Kentucky
(incidentally the home of the International Bluegrass Museum). The
beautiful look and sound of the Weber mandolin gets noticed wherever I
play. |
