I am sending you the attached image
of my daughter Cameron Russell
with her new Gallatin.
Cameron is 13 years old. She plays
mandolin and sings both lead and
harmony vocals in our Russell
Family Bluegrass Band in the
Chapel Hill/Pittsboro area of
North Carolina.
Although only having played for
less than 2 years, she has already
been the second runner up-promising
young talent-2004 Highfalls Old
Time Fiddler's Convention and was
first runner up in the 2004 Seagrove
(NC) Bluegrass Festival. She has
quickly developed into a crowd favorite
at many local festivals, churches,
and open mic gatherings.
Cameron has progressed far beyond
the Kentucky 630 she started on. We
began the difficult search for her next
level of instrument and after trying
other comparable mandolins, it only
took her about five minutes of playing
the Weber to proclaim "This is it, Dad.
This is the feel I want." She, as was I,
was equally impressed with its fit and
finish, it's bark and tone, and it's up the
neck clarity.
Thanks to Bruce and everyone at Weber
for your craftsmanship and devotion to detail.
We tried mandolins costing much more
than the Weber and nothing matched what
you had to offer.
Larry Russell
