I am a beginner on the mandolin, my first
stringed instrument. My advice to young
people is to start at 8 and not 48 years
of age and to purchase a quality instrument.
The Fern is the fourth mandolin I have owned
in a year's time, but I now have a "keeper".
The workmanship is superb, the sound is
awesome. Ease of playing is excellent. Several
experienced bluegrassers have commented on the
quality and voice of the instrument. I have
been learning fiddle tunes and having a great
time. The custom truss rod cover reads"Mid-Life
Crisis" and is underlined with a "heartbeat"
line in red. (my wife thought this was especially
fitting!) Play Weber, there's none better.
