I've been playing mandolin since I was 18 years old.
I am now 76. I was born & raised in East Tennessee and grew up
listening to WCYB Bristol, TN. Through the years
my wife & I have attended a number of bluegrass festival. I heard
the sound I liked. I have had an A-50 for 40+ year, but have not
been satisfied with the sound. After reading about
Weber in Bluegrass Unlimited magazine several years ago I decided to check
them out. After attempting this for three years, I made it
this last August as we headed through Montana on our way to Seattle.
We stopped in Logan, MT - the home of Sound To Earth Mandolins...The
Weber. Through Paula's help & Helen's talent as a
tour guide we were able to see how mandolins are made. The are made
with great care and workmanship. The employees were more than
helpful in answering questions. Paula gave us names of several music
stores and we chose the dealer in Helena
(Piccolo's
Music). There I purchased "The Yellowstone" model.
The sound is superb! I am very happy with the sound, the
noting and the perfect assembly. Above all, it stays in tune.
Very, very well made. -Bill Hawkins-
